Cachoeira do Tororó

Cachoeira do Tororó is a waterfall dropping about 20 meters into the Jardim Botânico area of Brazil's Federal District. A natural pool collects at the base, surrounded by dense local plant life that grows throughout the region.

The waterfall formed naturally over geological time and became an important landmark in the landscape long before the city was founded. When Brasília was established in the mid-20th century, the falls remained a significant reference point for the newly developed Federal District.

The site is reachable via a marked trail from the parking area, requiring roughly one kilometer of walking through the terrain. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water, as the path goes over uneven ground with natural variations in elevation.

The site has natural rock formations that provide anchoring points used for rappelling practice, making it popular with beginners learning the skill. The geological features create safe conditions for this activity, which is one reason people return regularly to practice.
