Anápolis

Anápolis is a city in the state of Goiás, Brazil, spreading across a wide area marked by flat terrain with scattered low hills. Broad streets cut through the town, lined with low-rise buildings, warehouses, and shops that give the place a functional appearance.

In the 18th century, travelers heading to the gold mines in the region stopped here and decided to settle permanently. The settlement grew slowly until it gained importance in the early 20th century and developed into an economic center.
