The Paranaguá Palace stands at Rua Santos Dumont, featuring architectural elements from different periods across its two-story structure and white facade.
Built between 1898 and 1907 on the ruins of a Jesuit college, the palace served as the municipal administration headquarters until 2010.
The second floor contains a museum displaying photographs, furniture, and artifacts from the 19th and 20th centuries, documenting the political history of Ilhéus.
The palace museum opens daily from 9 AM to noon and 2 PM to 5 PM, offering free admission to all visitors.
The building includes an 18th-century cabinet in perfect condition, reflecting the wealth of the cocoa cultivation period in the region.
