Built in 1863 as the Palacio do Governo, this structure served as both the governmental headquarters and residence for state governors until 1995.
The palace museum displays numerous artifacts, documents, and photographs that illustrate the political and social development of Sergipe state through different periods.
Located in central Aracaju, the palace offers free guided tours from Tuesday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM, and Saturdays until 12:30 PM.
The building underwent a transformation by an Italian architectural team in the early 1900s, which integrated neoclassical and eclectic design elements.
