Bezerros

Bezerros is a municipality in Pernambuco state in northeastern Brazil, located at about 460 meters above sea level and covering roughly 490 square kilometers. The town sits between the municipalities of Cumaru and Passira to the north and forms part of the regional administrative system.

The municipality emerged originally as a coffee production center before transforming into a diverse economic zone. This transition led to its current focus on tomato growing, cattle raising, and regional tourism activities.

Carnival celebrations here feature the tradition of Papangus, where people wear masks and costumes while moving through the streets. This local festival reflects how residents express their identity through this distinctive celebration.
