Iguatu

Iguatu is a municipality and administrative center in Ceará, located in northeastern Brazil across rolling terrain. The city sits at about 217 meters elevation and serves as a significant local hub.

The settlement grew from a Quixelós Indian village, and Portuguese colonization started in 1707 with the establishment of the Society of Jesus. This religious community shaped the early development and structure of the place.
