Luís Correia, Coastal municipality in northern Piauí, Brazil
Luís Correia is a coastal municipality in northern Piauí. The town spreads across flat terrain along the Atlantic shore, with beaches and lowland areas forming its main landscape.
The settlement was founded in 1820 as a fishing village called Amarração. In 1935, it received its current name to honor journalist Luiz Moraes Correia.
The Department of Culture and Art coordinates numerous initiatives throughout the year, including decorative competitions and regional artistic presentations.
The municipality is accessible by coastal roads and offers easy access to beaches and public spaces. Visitors can explore the town center and waterfront areas at their own pace.
The area contains sections of two environmental protection zones: the Parnaíba Delta and Serra da Ibiapaba. These two natural areas showcase different ecosystems within a single municipality.
