E Shed Markets, Heritage market in Victoria Quay, Fremantle, Australia.
E Shed Markets is a heritage timber building on Victoria Quay with waterfront views that houses various vendors and food stalls. The structure contains a mix of locally made products, fresh food, and regional specialties sold from individual stands throughout the space.
The building was originally constructed in 1929 as a commercial warehouse for port operations. In 1995 it was moved to its current location and converted to serve as a public market space.
Local makers and farmers gather here to sell handmade goods and fresh produce from the surrounding region. The space has become a meeting point where Fremantle residents come to support their community's producers.
The market is open Friday through Sunday and on select public holidays, accessible by public transportation from multiple directions. The waterfront location provides ample space to browse and walk around comfortably among the vendor stalls.
During its 1995 relocation, the building was rotated 180 degrees to face a different direction, a remarkable feat of engineering that required careful planning and specialized equipment. This rotation allowed the timber structure to be ideally positioned for its new role as a market space on the quay.
