Christian Brothers College, Catholic secondary school in Ellen Street, Fremantle, Australia.
Christian Brothers College is a Catholic secondary school on Ellen Street in Fremantle, Western Australia, run by the De La Salle Brothers. The campus includes a chapel, classrooms, and sports facilities spread across a compact grounds in a residential part of the city.
The school opened in 1882 under different management before the Christian Brothers took over in 1901, giving it a new direction. Over the following decades, it grew into one of the longest-running Catholic schools in Western Australia.
The college runs a house system named after figures connected to the local area, each with its own colors and traditions. Students take part in competitions and events through this system, which shapes much of their daily school experience.
The school sits in a residential part of Fremantle and is easy to reach on foot from the city center or by public transport. Because it is a working school, access to the grounds is generally not open to the public outside of scheduled events.
The original 1882 building is still standing and in daily use, making it one of the few 19th-century school buildings in Western Australia that has never been replaced. It is also listed as a State Registered Place, which recognizes its architectural and historical value to the region.
