Marsala House, Dianella

Marsala House is a residential building in Dianella constructed with concrete blocks featuring geometric patterns and positioned on elevated terrain. It spans multiple levels and contains five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two bars, two sunken living rooms, a swimming pool, and an expansive covered veranda.

Architect Iwan Iwanoff designed this residence in 1976, creating one of the most contemporary homes of that period. When added to the Western Australia State Heritage Register, it represented a notably recent addition to the list at the time of listing.

The residence merges Eastern European modernism with Australian residential design through its distinctive concrete blocks and geometric forms. This fusion shapes every room and creates an unusual character that sets it apart from typical homes of its era.
