Freemasons Hotel, Heritage-listed hotel in Toodyay, Australia
The Freemasons Hotel stands on Stirling Terrace with a two-story architecture featuring accommodations and dining facilities for visitors to Western Australia.
William Penphrase Tregoning constructed this establishment in 1860, initially operating it as the Newcastle Hotel before receiving its official license in 1861.
The hotel served as a central meeting point for the Toodyay Roads Board and hosted substantial community gatherings, including the formation of a reading club in 1871.
The establishment maintains regular dining hours from 11 AM to 9 PM, offering local seasonal produce and an extensive selection of beverages.
During water shortages in 1869, the hotel's private well became a vital resource for local residents who were permitted to collect drinking water.
