Boorabbin National Park

The national park spans 281 square kilometers along Great Eastern Highway, featuring sand deposits atop a plateau with kwongan heaths and woodlands.

The site was established as a national park in 1977 and derives its name from a former townsite that supplied water for steam locomotives in 1898.

The Kalaamaya people maintain traditional connections to this land, which contains evidence of Aboriginal practices through rock art and land use patterns.

Visitors require personal location beacons and adequate water supplies, as the park offers limited amenities and experiences hot summers with mild winters.

The park contains three semi-arid banksia species, including the rare Lullfitz's banksia, alongside 52 reptile species and 51 bird species.
