Saka Tunggal Mosque

Saka Tunggal Mosque features traditional Indonesian wooden architecture with a distinctive central column supporting the entire palm fiber roof structure. The building stands in a rural setting and impresses through its skilled craftsmanship.

The mosque was founded in 1871 by Kyai Tulih and stands as one of the oldest structures of its kind in the region. It received official recognition as a Cultural Property of Indonesia in 2004, honoring its historical importance.

Each year the Jaro Rohab ceremony takes place, when the bamboo fences around the cemetery are replaced and people from several regions gather together. This local event shows how the community keeps its traditions alive and maintains them.
