Soesilo Soedarman Museum

The Soesilo Soedarman Museum is a military museum in Cilacap that houses uniforms, weapons, photographs, and documents from Indonesia's military past. The collection spans different periods and aspects of the armed forces and their contributions to the nation.

The museum was established in 2000 within a Javanese pendopo building that was originally constructed in 1899 as a residential structure. The building has transitioned from private family use to serve as a public cultural institution.

The museum occupies a traditional Banyumas-style pendopo that contains household furnishings and heirlooms from a 19th-century Javanese family.

The location is easy to reach and allows plenty of time for a comfortable visit while viewing the exhibits at a relaxed pace. The museum accommodates visitors of various mobility levels and provides a straightforward experience without complicated routes.

An armored amphibious vehicle BRDM from the TNI AD Cavalry Battalion I sits permanently on the museum grounds and can be viewed from outside. This vehicle adds a hands-on dimension to the collection beyond the indoor displays.
