Baturraden

Baturraden is a mountain resort on the southern slopes of Mount Slamet, situated between 750 and 900 meters in elevation. The site features natural hot springs and waterfalls scattered throughout its grounds.

The site was established as a highland wellness resort during the Dutch colonial period. This early development set the foundation for its later growth as a popular recreational destination.

Traditional Javanese performances take place here, with musicians playing the Calung instrument and dancers performing Lengger and Kuda Lumping routines. These shows are woven into the local culture and reflect the artistic traditions of the region.

The site is open daily from early morning to late afternoon, with accommodation ranging from camping grounds to hotel facilities. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for uneven terrain.

The Kaloka Widya Mandala Park is home to a five-legged cow among its collection of animals, which many visitors overlook. This peculiar creature is one of the more unusual sights to encounter on the grounds.
