Tegal

Tegal is an administrative regency in northwestern Central Java that covers approximately 984 square kilometers. The territory spreads from lowlands in the north to mountainous areas in the south, with Mount Slamet rising in the background.

The regency was established in 1601 when Ki Gede Sebayu received an appointment from the Mataram Sultan. This early administrative structure formed the foundation for how it is organized today.
