Pura Taman Ayun is a majestic garden temple in Bali, featuring traditional Balinese architecture and expansive water gardens.
This historical temple was built by the Mengwi royalty in the 17th century as a family temple of the royal house.
The temple plays a significant role during the Galungan festival, which celebrates the triumph of virtue (Dharma) over evil (Adharma).
It is located near the village of Mengwi, around 18 kilometers northwest of Denpasar.
Pura Taman Ayun is known for being part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the 'Subak System' representing the Balinese philosophical concept of Tri Hita Karana.
