Malaka, Administrative regency in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.

Malaka is an administrative regency in East Nusa Tenggara with twelve districts and Betun as its central hub. The region covers 1,195 square kilometers and is divided into smaller administrative villages that serve as its basic governmental units.

Malaka was established in 2012 when the southern section of Belu was separated to form a new regency. This division created a new administrative structure for the eastern part of the province.

The communities of Malaka keep traditional ceremonies alive through festivals and local gatherings that show their customs. These celebrations help maintain the connection between residents and their heritage.

The region is divided into multiple districts, each with its own villages, so planning ahead helps when exploring different areas. The dry season is the best time to visit, as roads become easier to navigate throughout the regency.

Malaka Tengah district contains seventeen administrative villages, making it significantly larger than most other administrative units in the regency. This concentration reveals how population density varies between different districts.
