Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Motorsport racing track in Ventnor, Australia.

Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is a motorsport racing track in Ventnor, Victoria, that runs along the coastline. The facility comprises a main layout with right-hand turns and straights where motorcycles and cars reach high speeds.

The track began operations in the late 1920s and hosted the country's first Grand Prix race. After decades with interruptions, the course was permanently reopened in the 1980s and grew into a fixture on international racing calendars.

The place takes its name from the island located roughly 90 miles southeast of Melbourne, known for its wild coastal scenery. Racing fans from around the world travel here to watch machines tackle one of the fastest circuits in the southern hemisphere.

The site sits on Back Beach Road and is easily reached by car via main highways from Melbourne. Those using public transport should check connections in advance, as the island location is somewhat remote.

Wind from the ocean can pick up suddenly during races and drastically change driving conditions in exposed sections. These weather influences make every event unpredictable and demand quick adjustments from drivers.
