Bellerive Beach, Sandy beach in Bellerive, Tasmania, Australia
The 1.2-kilometer beach extends between Second Bluff and Kangaroo Bluff, offering views across the Derwent Estuary to South Arm and Bruny Island.
The land surrounding Bellerive Beach was inhabited by the Mouheneener people for up to 35,000 years, with abalone shell middens discovered in 1980.
The beach area serves as a central gathering place for community events, water activities, and family recreation along the tree-lined reserve.
The beach maintains restricted hours for dogs between December 1 and March 1, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with off-leash periods during other times.
A colony of little penguins inhabits the beach area, and visitors can observe bioluminescent displays created by microscopic plankton during evening hours.
