Oreti Beach is a long sandy shoreline along the Southland coast that stretches between Riverton and the Oreti River estuary. The beach features wide open areas and views across the Foveaux Strait, accessible through several entry points.

Oreti Beach is one of three bays on the Foveaux Strait coast of Southland, between Riverton and the Ōreti River estuary. In the 1950s and 1960s Burt Munro practised riding his Indian motorbike here before setting records at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah. In 1967 an emperor penguin was found on the beach, the only one recorded in New Zealand until 2011.

The beach is easy to reach from Invercargill and has parking and restroom facilities at various access points. It is best visited in dry weather, as this coastal area tends to be windy and conditions can change quickly.

In 1967 an emperor penguin came ashore here, the only one recorded in New Zealand until Happy Feet landed at Peka Peka Beach in 2011. It is also the stretch of sand where Burt Munro practised on his Indian motorbike before setting records at Bonneville.
