Christchurch Boys' High School, Secondary school in Fendalton-Waimari-Harewood, New Zealand
Christchurch Boys' High School is a state secondary school situated on 12 hectares between the suburbs of Riccarton and Fendalton, serving around 1,400 students. The campus includes classrooms, sports facilities, and outdoor spaces spread across the wooded grounds.
The school was founded in 1881 to prepare students for university study and moved to its current Straven Road location in 1926. This relocation allowed it to expand into the larger institution it is today.
The school holds ANZAC Day services where students gather to honor former pupils who served in World Wars. These ceremonies connect the school community with its shared past and remain an important part of the school calendar.
Adams House provides boarding accommodation for around 130 resident students, located about 500 meters (1,600 feet) east of the main campus on Straven Road. The facility operates with its own amenities to serve the boarding community.
The main building holds Category I heritage status, recognized as architecturally significant to the region. The school has also produced several All Blacks rugby players who went on to represent New Zealand at the highest level.
