Remuera Library, Arts and Crafts library in Remuera, New Zealand
The Remuera Library features open floor plans with high ceilings, large windows, and traditional dark timber accents throughout its Neo-Georgian structure.
The architectural firm Gummer and Ford designed this building in 1926, receiving a gold medal from the New Zealand Institute of Architects in 1928.
The library includes a lecture hall that served as a center for public education and community gatherings during the early twentieth century.
Located at 429 Remuera Road, the library provides services to residents of Remuera, Ellerslie, Greenlane, and Meadowbank neighborhoods.
The 2002 renovation restored original architectural elements while adding modern features, including a mezzanine in the former stage area.
