Ironbank, Commercial building on Karangahape Road, Auckland, New Zealand
The Ironbank building features five vertical towers with a steel-clad orange exterior and stacked office spaces across six levels.
Completed in 2009, Ironbank received the New Zealand Architecture Medal in 2010 and achieved the first 5-Star As-Built Greenstar rating in the country.
The building structure incorporates clusters of stacked boxes that allow companies to express individuality while sharing an urban communal courtyard space.
The structure includes a robotic car stacker system that organizes 96 vehicles within a four-level storage wall beneath the building.
Natural ventilation throughout the 4,500-square-meter building eliminates the need for air conditioning, reducing energy consumption significantly.
