Fairfield Showground

Fairfield Showground is a multipurpose venue in Prairiewood spanning roughly 33 hectares and designed to host large-scale events and community gatherings. The site features three sports fields, a function center that seats up to 250 people, and substantial exhibition halls serving various purposes.

The grounds first opened in the 1950s near Orphan School Creek and served as an exhibition space from the beginning. A major upgrade program started in 2017 to improve the facilities and infrastructure across the site.

The grounds serve as host to major annual festivals including Assyrian New Year, Eid Festival, Chinese New Year, and Vietnamese New Year celebrations. These events reflect the diverse communities that gather here to observe and share their traditions together.

Visitors will find ample parking with around 600 spaces and easy access to the sports facilities and function center throughout the grounds. It is wise to arrive early, particularly when large markets or events are scheduled, to secure good parking and avoid congestion.

On Saturdays, one of western Sydney's largest markets operates here, featuring around 600 covered stalls where vendors sell fresh produce, merchandise, and household goods. The market draws crowds each week seeking local and international products at affordable prices.
