San Diego Repertory Theatre, Theater company and nonprofit organization in Downtown San Diego, United States.
San Diego Repertory Theatre operates two performance spaces within the Lyceum Theatre complex: a 550-seat mainstage and a 250-seat flexible space. These venues allow for different types of productions, ranging from intimate performances to larger-scale shows.
The organization emerged from Indian Magique, a street theater group founded in 1972. The current theater was established in 1976 by Sam Woodhouse and D.W. Jacobs.
The theater presents contemporary works and reimagined classics that represent the diverse voices of San Diego's communities. Productions reflect this through several annual festivals and programs that spotlight local artists and different cultural perspectives.
The box office is open daily from noon to evening, making it easy to purchase tickets in person. Parking is available nearby and the downtown location offers convenient access by public transportation.
The Lyceum Theatre complex underwent a major renovation in 2017, updating both stages with modern technical systems and improved audience facilities. This renovation enabled the theater to mount more ambitious and varied productions.
