La Habra is a residential city located in a valley between the Puente Hills and Coyote Hills in northwestern Orange County. The city spreads across a flat valley floor with residential neighborhoods, parks, and local shopping areas running through its center.
The city takes its name from a land grant given in 1839 by the Mexican government to Mariano Reyes Roldan. Early American settlers later transformed the area from sheep pasture into an agricultural zone with fruit orchards and farms.
