Puerto Triunfo spans 361 square kilometers of land at 148 meters elevation, bordered by Puerto Nare to the north and Boyacá to the east.
The settlement began in 1882 when Evencio Vásquez Duque established a community near a location called El Triunfo, gaining municipal status in 1977.
The local population celebrates the Mango Festival and hosts the International Yuma Nautical Marathon, drawing participants from surrounding regions.
The municipality sits along the Medellín-Bogotá Highway, positioned 180 kilometers from Medellín with direct access to transportation networks.
The region contains natural formations including the Condor Caves, where visitors can observe nocturnal birds and bats within limestone structures.
