Volcán Barú National Park, Mountain national park in Chiriquí Province, Panama.

The protected area spans 14,325 hectares of terrain containing five distinct ecosystems, from cloud forests to tropical hardwood forests with diverse wildlife species.

Established in 1976, the national park includes an active stratovolcano that has experienced multiple earthquake swarms, including events in 1930, 1965, 1985, and 2006.

The volcanic soil in the region contributes to the production of Geisha coffee, which ranks among the most expensive coffee varieties in the world.

Visitors can access the park through Boquete, with options for hiking trails of varying difficulties or using a 4x4 vehicle to reach higher elevations.

From the summit at 3,474 meters, travelers can observe both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans while standing at Panama's highest geographical point.
