Henderson County, Administrative division in East Texas, United States

Henderson County encompasses 948 square miles of territory, including 75 square miles of water bodies and numerous recreational areas throughout its boundaries.

The Texas Legislature established Henderson County in 1846, naming it after James Pinckney Henderson, who served as the first governor of Texas.

The county hosts regular events at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, where visitors learn about aquatic ecosystems through educational programs and demonstrations.

Major transportation routes include U.S. Highway 175 and State Highways 19, 31, 155, 198, 274, and 334, connecting residents to surrounding regions.
