Cooke County

Cooke County is an administrative area in north Texas with varied landscapes ranging from sandy prairies to wooded regions. Its main towns of Gainesville, Muenster, Lindsay, and Valley View are connected by highways and rural roads.

The area was founded in 1848 and named after William Gordon Cooke, a Texas Revolution soldier. Its administrative organization took shape the following year.
