King's Tavern, Historic tavern and restaurant in Natchez, United States

The two-story brick building at 613 Jefferson Street features original wooden beams from sailing ships and flat river boats of the 18th century.

Richard King established the tavern in 1789, transforming a former British block house into an inn and postal station for travelers along the Natchez Trace.

The establishment serves Mississippi cuisine with wood-fired flatbreads and seasonal cocktails while maintaining its original architectural elements from the 1760s.

The restaurant operates from Thursday to Sunday, offering mixology classes for $35 where participants learn cocktail preparation techniques from professional bartenders.

During renovations in the 1930s, workers discovered three mummified bodies and a jeweled dagger hidden behind the fireplace walls.
