Neibert-Fisk House, Greek Revival mansion in Natchez, United States.
The Neibert-Fisk House is a two-story brick mansion built with Flemish bond brickwork and featuring a central portico supported by Roman Ionic columns. The structure combines classical architectural elements with finely crafted details characteristic of high-quality residential design from its era.
The house was built in 1836 by Joseph Neibert but changed hands shortly after when he faced financial hardship. It passed to merchant Alvarez Fisk, from whom it took its lasting name.
Over the decades, the house served different cultural purposes, including as a college for young women and later as a gallery space for local artists. These uses have given the building a particular role in the town's cultural life.
The building sits on North Wall Street within the historic district, where multiple structures from different eras stand together forming the town's historic fabric. Visitors will find the area best explored on foot, with many period homes clustered nearby.
A distinctive belvedere crowns the hip roof, an architectural feature that gave residents views toward the Mississippi River. This elevated lookout was a special and relatively uncommon addition to residential architecture in the region.
