Finca Vigía, Literary museum in San Francisco de Paula, Cuba.

The two-story white mansion contains Ernest Hemingway's personal library of 9,000 books, hunting trophies, and original furniture from the 1950s.

Hemingway purchased the property in 1940 with royalties from For Whom the Bell Tolls and lived there until 1960, writing The Old Man and the Sea.

The museum maintains the rooms exactly as they were when Hemingway departed, including his typewriter, workspace, and personal artifacts from his writing career.

Visitors observe the interior through open windows, as direct entry into the house remains restricted for preservation purposes.

The residence features a wooden tower with panoramic views of Havana, where Hemingway wrote standing at his desk for several hours each morning.

Photography locations in Cuba

Cuban landscapes combine colonial buildings in Havana, beaches in Varadero, and tobacco fields in Valle de Viñales. The capital displays historic structures like the Capitol, Gran Teatro, and Morro fortress. The coastal regions present white sand beaches and clear waters.

Visit Cuba: nature, history, and colonial heritage

Cuba combines colonial architecture, tropical landscapes and centuries-old fortifications. From the tobacco fields of Viñales Valley to the colonial towns of Trinidad and Havana, and the waterfalls of Soroa, the island displays its history and natural diversity. The Spanish colonial period left behind fortresses, palaces and cobblestone streets in historic centers. National parks protect karst formations, rainforests and coastal areas. Along the coast lie beaches with turquoise waters and coral reefs. The route passes through different regions of the island, from the mountains of Sierra Maestra to the cayos off the northern coast. Each location shows a different aspect of Cuban culture and nature, whether in the streets of Santiago de Cuba or in the caves of Bellamar.

Historical Tours and Monuments of Havana

The monuments in central Havana showcase Spanish colonial military, religious, and civil architecture. The 16th-century fortifications protect the port, while baroque religious buildings and neoclassical palaces line the cobbled squares. Museums, theaters, and cultural centers occupy former administrative and industrial buildings.
