Dinosaur World

Dinosaur World is an outdoor park in Plant City featuring over 150 life-sized dinosaur sculptures positioned throughout gardens with native plants and walking paths. Information boards accompany each figure, explaining characteristics and behavior of the prehistoric species.

The first location opened in Florida in 1998, establishing the foundation for this dinosaur park concept. Subsequent expansions to other states brought the attraction to new regions over the following decade.

The park draws school groups and families who engage with paleontology through hands-on learning programs. Visitors experience how scientists discover and study ancient life through activities like fossil excavation.

The grounds allow self-guided exploration at your own pace, with level walking paths that are easy to navigate for most visitors. Fossil excavation stations with sand tables offer hands-on activities, especially for children looking to try something interactive.

Each dinosaur figure is built on-site from carved polystyrene foam, fiberglass, and textured putty, with three new sculptures added each year. This hands-on construction method gives each figure individual details and enables ongoing expansion.
