Gatorama is a crocodile farm in Palmdale, Florida, where alligators and crocodiles live in natural enclosures. The facility houses rare white specimens alongside endangered Orinoco crocodiles from different regions.
The facility was founded in 1957 by Cecil Clemons, who initially collected local alligators and later acquired wild crocodiles from Jamaica in the 1960s. These early collections formed the foundation of the operation.
The annual Gator Hatchling Festival in August permits visitors to participate in the hatching process of alligator eggs, promoting wildlife education.
The location is easily accessible for visitors and can be explored on foot, with paths connecting the various enclosures. Comfortable shoes are recommended since there is considerable walking involved.
A remarkable alligator called Major MacDill, originally discovered at an air force base, now lives here as a permanent resident. This notable individual frequently draws visitor attention.
