Social Hall, Social space in Alcatraz
The Social Hall served as a recreation center for the officers and families stationed at Alcatraz.
Operational during the penitentiary era, from 1934 until the prison's closure in 1963.
Known colloquially as the Officers' Club, it hosted numerous social events.
Destroyed by fire in 1970, now only ruins can be visited.
