Pebble Beach Golf Links, Golf course in Pebble Beach, California, United States.
Pebble Beach Golf Links is a course on the California coast that runs along cliffs rising above the Pacific. Nine of its 18 holes sit on rocky headlands at roughly 150 feet (45 meters), where wind and waves shape daily playing conditions.
The course opened in 1919 and quickly became a venue for national championships. It has hosted six U.S. Open events and remains a recurring site for professional tournaments.
The tournament draws players and spectators from around the world each year, combining a week of golf with social gatherings. The course takes its name from the smooth coastal stones that once covered much of the shoreline.
Tee times should be reserved at least one day ahead, either online or by calling the resort. The coastal location means weather can shift quickly, so bringing layered clothing is helpful.
The seventh hole has one of the smallest greens in professional golf, measuring around 2,500 square feet (230 square meters) and set right by the ocean. Seals sometimes surface in the waves below the fairway and watch golfers play.
