Point Defiance Park, Urban park in Tacoma, Washington
Point Defiance Park is a 760 acre urban park featuring Tacoma's zoo and aquarium, beaches, trails, gardens and much more.
In 1888, Point Defiance Park was bought by the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma and has been maintained as a public park since then.
The park also features attractions such as Owen beach, Fort Nisqually, and a museum with history and culture of the region.
Park visitors have various activities to engage in, including kayaking, boating, hiking or visiting the zoo and aquarium.
Containing old-growth forests within city limits is a unique feature of the park.
