Beacon Hill Park, Public park in Victoria, Canada.
A 75-hectare green space with woodland trails, sports fields, gardens, and playgrounds extends along the Juan de Fuca Strait coastline.
Sir James Douglas designated this land as a protected area in 1858, and it received municipal park status in 1882.
The Songhees people named this land míqәn, meaning 'warmed by the sun', and traditionally gathered camas bulbs in the area.
The park includes tennis courts, pickleball facilities, two playgrounds, a water park, and multiple picnic areas throughout the grounds.
The fourth-tallest totem pole in the world, carved by Chief Mungo Martin and his team, stands within the park since 1956.
