First Church of Christ, Scientist

The First Church of Christ, Scientist is a single-story wooden building with a mansard roof and a semi-circular entry portico supported by columns. Multi-paned wooden windows with cathedral glass line the structure, which sits at the eastern end of Victoria Park.

The building was constructed in 1925 by the architectural firm Honeyman and Curtis, marking early religious development in North Vancouver during the 20th century. It gained heritage status in 1995 and was later taken over by the North Shore Bethel Christian Mennonite Brethren Church.

The building displays the clean, symmetrical design typical of Christian Science structures from this era. Visitors notice the formal entrance arrangement and thoughtful architectural details that create a sense of order and contemplation.

The building is located at 189 Keith Road on the eastern side of Victoria Park and is easy to find. Visitors should check ahead about access times, as these may vary depending on services or private events.
