Fall City, Census-designated place in King County, Washington State.
Fall City sits along the Snoqualmie River at 32 meters elevation, surrounded by dense forests of the Pacific Northwest. The settlement is framed by green, forested surroundings with two river systems flowing through the area.
The settlement began in 1856 with the construction of two forts during the Puget Sound War to protect arriving settlers. These early fortifications continue to shape the area's past.
The community preserves its farming roots through working farms that shape the landscape today. At the same time, the place has become a home for people who work in Seattle and seek a quieter setting.
The area offers direct access to outdoor activities including fishing, kayaking, and hiking trails along the two rivers. The location is accessible year-round and trails are generally easy to reach.
The name comes from when the place was called 'The Landing' because river rapids and shallow water upstream made navigation impossible for boats. This was where river traffic naturally had to stop in this region.
