Boeing Everett Factory, Aircraft assembly facility in Everett, United States.
Boeing Everett Factory is an aircraft assembly plant in Everett, United States, whose main building spans roughly 98 acres under one roof. Inside, six production lines run side by side, each assembling fuselages, wings, and systems into complete aircraft.
The facility opened in 1967 after a major order for 25 wide-body aircraft arrived from an American airline. Over the following years, the hall expanded several times to accommodate additional models.
The name refers to the aviation company that has shaped the entire region for decades. Driving through the area, you see reminders of the aircraft industry everywhere, from signs to the huge buildings.
The building sits on the edge of Everett and is easily visible from the main roads. Public paths run around the site, offering a sense of the scale even though entry is restricted.
Inside, 26 overhead cranes travel along roughly 31 miles (50 km) of track, moving components weighing many tons with millimeter accuracy. Each assembly line advances so slowly that the movement is almost invisible to the eye.
