Snohomish, Historical city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States
Snohomish is a town situated along the Snohomish River in northwestern Washington, positioned between Everett and Monroe in Snohomish County. The community features several developed parks with walking paths, playgrounds, and sports facilities for residents and visitors.
The settlement was founded in 1859 as Cadyville before being renamed Snohomish in 1871. It served as the county's administrative center for a period but lost that status by the end of the 1890s.
The downtown core features numerous antique shops housed in buildings that reflect the town's past, creating a sense of stepping back into an earlier era. Walking through the streets, visitors naturally encounter this collection of restored structures from previous centuries.
The town is easily accessible by car and offers parking near the downtown area. If you prefer to explore on foot, the main shops and parks are within reasonable walking distance of each other.
The southern endpoint of the Centennial Trail, a pathway connecting several communities, terminates at the river in this town. The trail itself provides a green corridor for cyclists and hikers exploring the region.
