Horsetail Fall, Waterfall in Yosemite National Park

Horsetail Fall is a small, ephemeral waterfall that flows over the eastern edge of El Capitan in Yosemite Valley.

The fall was named due to its resemblance to a horse's tail.

It is famous for a phenomenon known as 'Firefall' where the setting sun illuminates the waterfall, making it glow orange and red.

The best time to view this spectacle is in mid to late February.

This natural event only occurs if there has been enough snowfall and temperatures are warm enough to cause melting.
