Fain Lake is a small reservoir near Prescott Valley, Arizona, fed by Lynx Creek. It covers about 3 acres with an average depth of 8 feet and a maximum depth of 25 feet.
The area has deep roots in gold mining, as miners historically used water from Lynx Creek for their operations. Fain Lake Park opened to the public in 1997 after the Fain family donated the land.
The lake is accessible from nearby parking and easy to reach for fishing. Swimming, boating, and camping are not permitted, but trails offer ways to explore the surrounding landscape.
Near the lake are remnants of mining equipment, including a rusty stamp mill, that recall the intensive gold extraction operations once conducted in this area. Visitors can also explore the Fitzmaurice site, an archaeological location with over 30 rooms dating between 1050 and 1300.
