Beaver

Beaver is a city in Beaver County, Utah, located at an elevation of about 1800 meters and surrounded by the Tushar Mountains to the east and Mineral Mountains to the west. The settlement sits in a high-altitude valley with gentle slopes and views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

Mormon pioneers established the settlement on February 6, 1856, along a major trade route connecting Salt Lake City with Los Angeles. This strategic location made the place an important stop for travelers and merchants during that era.

The Historical Beaver County Courthouse and Daughters of Utah Pioneer Museum display exhibits showing how early settlers lived and worked in the region. Visitors come to these places to learn about the pioneer heritage that shaped the community.

The Beaver City Public Library offers resources and is open on most weekdays, making it easy for visitors to access local information. The downtown area is walkable and has several small restaurants and shops for day visitors.

The city was home to one of the first hydroelectric plants in Utah, providing electric power to the community in its early years. This technological achievement made the place a pioneer in modern power generation for the region.
