Château de Vaire

The castle features a symmetrical facade with central protruding sections, decorated rooms on the ground floor, and dual-level gardens with trimmed yews.

The current stone structure, built between 1713 and 1718 by architects Claude-Antoine Colombot and Jean-Pierre Gallezot, replaced an earlier fortified castle from the 11th century.

The architecture reflects French classical style influences from Parisian models, particularly evident in the design choices of Issy and Champs-sur-Marne castles.

The castle opens for visitors during summer months since 1992, allowing exploration of both the main building and the French-style gardens.

The property received 120,000 livres as construction funding from Marie Elisabeth Yacinthe Heuslin's dowry, leading to later marital disputes and public conflicts.
