Château de Vallerois-le-Bois, Medieval castle in Vallerois-le-Bois, France.
The stone fortress features a 15th-century dungeon, Renaissance-style spiral staircase turret, and a 16th-century gatehouse protected by a drawbridge.
The castle belonged to the Cicon family in the 12th century and received fortification rights in 1426 under the suzerainty of Philip the Good.
The castle earned the Grand Prix des Vieilles Maisons Françaises for its restoration efforts, recognizing the preservation of French architectural heritage.
The castle opens for guided tours on Sunday afternoons from mid-April to early October, with additional summer visiting hours by appointment.
After falling into ruins with collapsed roofs in 1922 and 1933, the castle underwent complete restoration starting in 1990 by Jean-Paul Borsotti.
