Château de Valmirande

The Valmirande castle extends 70 meters in length and rises 40 meters high, featuring gray limestone from Lourdes and white stones from Vilhonneur.

Construction of the castle started in 1892 when Baron Bertrand de Lassus acquired 41 hectares of land, with completion achieved in 1898.

The castle grounds include a Gothic chapel added between 1902 and 1905, containing marble elements, stained glass windows, and a Christ statue by Louis-Ernest Barrias.

Guided tours operate daily at 4 PM from July 14th to August 25th, with special arrangements available for groups exceeding 10 people throughout the year.

The surrounding park, designed by Denis and Eugène Bühler, contains 180 different tree species, including century-old tulip trees and Lebanon cedars.
